Motor City In Motion is a collection of photographs featuring iconic Detroit architecture & signage taken from the passenger seat of a moving car.

Detroit, home of the moving automobile assembly line, is always in motion. Someone is speeding down Ford to go to work. Someone is driving seventy-five feet underwater towards Canada. Someone is moving large parts on a barge down the Detroit River. Motor City in Motion celebrates our infinite & historic movement by framing these stunning landmarks in vivid black & white.

As historians & archivists, we honor our roots by honoring our landscape. From the Fisher Theatre, to Cadillac Place, to the “Flower Building” on Telegraph, Detroit’s architecture symbolizes the beauty, strength & funk of the people. We got our name from our favorite landmark, River Rouge, & pay gratitude to our favorite city by rejoicing in its beauty & sharing stories through image & language.
